White Roses

White Rose

Hark, come upon the velvet seat
let your ears arise
tumult of brass pipes
waning bellow of the silver
mandated by the ivory covenant

Gingerly flowing silk
brushed against the hallowed ground
painting the indoctrinate of time
past the softly spoken garden

Harold in the worn red
piercings of martyrs
ladened with the straight and narrow
path of bound canes
perpendicular to life and society

Trudge in and embrace the revelation
shuttled to the arch
branched inward, entrapping those who dwell
yet liberation brings the forged trident
Laced with laud to pierce,
create the new patron

Resistance futile to the result
but peer beyond the exodus
and starve for the bliss.
Pastures ended by fantasy now made reality
swaddled by the intertwined hope
unconfined by Peter.

Life now lived.
Movement past a true abomination
hypocrisy now fled
left to peer upon the new year’s blossom.
Pedals diverging unto their direction
yet always connected at the root.
Breath the whisper of the tree
and finally be silent
among cultivated winter roses.

Old crinkled pages and burning candles
cups filled with wine
no longer staining what can be made.
White roses bloom free
glowing in the rain.

  1. This is beautiful. You have a very clear and eloquent voice. This poem reads almost a classical poem from the romantic era. This is the kind of poem people can read over and over again, each time gaining a new understanding of its significance.

  3. I really liked the style in which you wrote the poem. Your word choice gave the poem a different feel, which turned out to be really interesting. Also, I enjoyed figuring out the deeper meaning of the poem that went beyond just what it literally meant.

  4. Very well done my good man. I commend the graceful elegance with which you write, utilizing subtle metaphors to create a gorgeous sensory path down which we are guided gently by the hand.
