Maria Lopez, poetry

The uneven pigments splashed among our faces, the  muddled scars carved into our skin, the length of our legs only reaching us up so far into the sky

The gap in between her teeth almost as if her teeth were running away from one another in opposite directions - afraid to smile, not aware of her true power. The power to be indifferent-

The bump on his eyebrow, where if you look really closely you see the scar that will forever remain on the left side of his angelic face, truly the most beautiful thing to look at and yet; he doesn't even realize

Despite the scars, despite the discoloration of skin tones, despite the still growing body he possesses he will never be anything more than pleasant to observe

You, nor I, nor him, nor any of us cannot change what we we've been placed on this Earth with

We cannot help that some of us hate the aroma of peanut butter and we cannot help that not all of us know how to multiply integers

No, not of us feel the same emotions and no we most likely never will

But to radiate from your own confidence, well that. That truly is the greatest thing
